Library Card Design Contest 2026

Show off your creativity and design a limited-edition Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library card! A limited run of the winning designs will be printed and available during Library Card Sign-Up Month (September) and distributed for the next year.


Submissions Deadline: June 30, 2026
Community Voting (Online): July 13 – July 19, 2026
Winners Announced: July 22, 2026 (Bookworm Finale Event)
Cards Available: September 2026 (Library Card Sign-Up Month)

Eligibility

  • Open to all ages in the following categories:
    • Kids: Ages 0–12
    • Teens: Ages 13–17
    • Adults: Ages 18+
  • Participants must:
    • Reside in Ross County, Ohio, or
    • Hold a valid CRCPL library card
  • Limit one entry per person


Design Guidelines

  • Designs must be original artwork (no copying, tracing, or copyrighted characters/logos)
  • No AI-generated artwork
  • Artwork must be appropriate for all audiences
  • Keep important elements away from edges (for printing)
  • Designs should reflect what you love about the library!  
  • Final card size: 3.375" x 2.125" (standard card size)


Submission Requirements

Judging & Voting

Step 1: Staff Selection

Library staff will select finalists from each age category based on:

  • Creativity
  • Originality
  • Visual impact
  • Relevance to theme/library use

Step 2: Community Voting

Finalists from each category will be posted online on this web page and also on the CRCPL Facebook page. Public voting: July 13–19


Winners

  • One winner from each age category (Kids, Teens, Adults)
  • Winners announced at Bookworm Finale (July 22)
  • Winning designs will be printed as official CRCPL library cards and available starting in September for National Library Card Sign Up Month.

Official Rules

  • Artwork must be original and unpublished
  • No copyrighted or trademarked images (e.g., characters, logos)
  • No offensive or inappropriate content
  • Do not include personal identifying information on the design
  • By entering, participants grant CRCPL permission to reproduce and distribute the artwork and use designs for promotional purposes.
