The Huntington Branch Closed Permanently on Friday, May 26, 2023

A note from the Executive Director and Huntington Branch Clerks:

Dear Patron,

It has been a pleasure serving Huntington Township over the last 7 years with a public library branch inside the high school; however, our time in the building ends with the closing of this school year. Our last day will be Friday, May 26, 2023.

We will miss the kids most of all, but will continue to serve the township with frequent bookmobile stops. Those visits are on the first and third Wednesdays of the month at the Family Dollar. The next one is May 3 from 2:30 to 4 p.m. At a Bee stop, you can sign up for a library card, browse and check out materials, use a computer, or use the built-in WiFi.

We are exploring other options, too. This fall, Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library will distribute a strategic planning survey to gauge community needs and wants for library services across the county. Stay tuned.

We will have one more party to cap our time at the Huntington library. Everybody is invited to stop by on Thursday, May 25 from 4 to 5 p.m. to share a story and grab a cookie. See you then.

About Your Holds

Effective May 1, 2023, holds can no longer be placed for pickup at the Huntington Branch. If you regularly use the Huntington Branch to obtain library materials, we invite you to check out one of our other library locations.

Some requested materials are still in transit to the Huntington Branch. You may receive a call to pick up holds at the Huntington Branch through May 18. Cargo deliveries to the Huntington Branch will cease on that date. All incoming items not received by May 18 will be routed to the Main Library at 140 S. Paint St., Chillicothe.

When the branch closes on Friday, May 26, all Huntington Branch library cards will be transitioned to Main Library borrowing cards. This means that if you previously had a Huntington Branch card, you will now pick up your holds at the Main Library. You may also designate a new CRCPL branch as your home location by calling us at 740-702-4145.
