Dr. Andrew Shelton, Professor in the Department of History of Art at The Ohio State University, will explore the history and cultural significance of Cinderella and Her Sisters, a painting by 19th-century European artist Joseph-Henri-François Van Lerius.
Van Lerius was a leading figure in the Antwerp School of European painting, and his works are featured in major collections around the world -- including the Royal Museum of Fine Arts in Antwerp, the Royal Belgian Museum of Fine Arts in Brussels, the Smithsonian American Art Museum, and right here at the Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library.
