Youth Services Manager Position

The Chillicothe and Ross County Public Library is seeking an innovative and energetic Youth Services Manager. This full-time position (40 hours per week) is based at the Main Library (140 S. Paint St.), but supports activities throughout the city and county. This position has a starting hourly wage of $22.00 with paid leave and insurance benefits.

The Youth Services Manager is an integral member of the Enrichment Team and is responsible for developing meaningful and engaging activities and collections for our youngest patrons and their caregivers. This position leads a dedicated staff of three and represents the library in the community at events and meetings.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s degree in Library and Information Science from an ALA-accredited school; or, is enrolled in an ALA-accredited program with an anticipated completion date. The successful candidate will have at least two years of professional experience working with children and have previous management experience.

Volunteers bring energy, enthusiasm, special skills, and a new perspective to the library. The Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library welcomes volunteers and uses them in a support role to supplement the efforts of paid library staff for various special projects and programs.  Your help and your time are greatly appreciated.

It is essential that volunteers make a real commitment to the library, and they are expected to act in accordance with library policies and to reflect positive customer service attitudes to all library patrons.

Volunteers are individuals, 12 years of age or older, who contribute time, energy, and talents directly to or on behalf of the Chillicothe & Ross County Public Library and are not paid by library funds.  All volunteers must apply and be accepted by the library prior to performance of library tasks.

Adult Volunteers and VolunTeens.
